Management Team
The team behind Extream Ventures is uniquely qualified to develop scalable startup companies in the IDM space. The management team has an average of 18 years of experience in venture capital, angel investing, entrepreneurship, management, operations, consulting, teaching, and financial services. Three of the team members have been involved in early-stage companies in Singapore for the last 5-8 years as investors, entrepreneurs, and mentors.
Carmelo Pistorio
Partner
Carmelo Pistorio has over 15 years international entrepreneurial experience across multiple high-tech industries including software, semiconductors, and environmental systems and solutions. His operational experience spans all stages of a startup: he has held positions ranging from founder and investor to senior executive for operations, and has served on the boards of a number of companies across Europe and Asia. He is the Founder and Managing Partner of Upstream Ventures, and early-stage VC firm established in Singapore in 2003.
Carmelo currently serves as a panel member of both TEC (The Enterprise Challenge) which responds to the Prime Minister’s Office, and SPRING Singapore's TECS (Technology Enterprise Commercialisation Scheme). He also serves on the board of the Pistorio Foundation , a charitable foundation founded by his father Pasquale Pistorio. Carmelo serves on the boards of Upstream Ventures’ core portfolio companies including XID Technologies Pte. Ltd., where he is Executive Chairman, and Comlent, Inc.
Carmelo earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy and History from Tufts University in Boston, MA, USA.
